The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots, non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education. The organization was started in 1984, by a group of visionary surfers from Malibu, California. Today, we have over 50,000 members and 80 chapters around the world. Here in British Columbia, there are two chapters: Vancouver and Vancouver Island (with a South Island and Pacific Rim constituency). |

The Young Naturalists’ Club of BC addresses the growing need to reconnect children and nature through a unique program of nature clubs throughout the province. From Fort St. John to Vancouver and Prince George to Fernie, our network of family and school nature clubs engage youth in exploring BC’s diverse natural world, serving over 2600 youth aged 5-14 in 90 clubs. The YNC is a recognized leader in delivering low-cost, high-impact programs to engage youth in nature education and conservation. Our clubs are led by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about nature and about sharing their passion with young people. |
